Configuring Microsoft Windows 2000 Dial-Up-Networking 


Select Start and then Settings.
Then click on Network and Dial-up Connections..


Double click Make New Connection.


Click Next.


Select Dial-up to the Internet.
Click Next.


Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually...
Click Next.


Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
Click Next.


Insert Area code and Telephone number
Click Advanced.
After Advanced settings are inserted, click Next.


Select PPP and check Disable LCP Extensions.
Click the Addresses tab.


Insert your User name and Password.
Click Next.


Enter the name you would like to refer to connection as.
Click Next.


If you do not currently have a Microsoft email client configured (i.e. Outlook),
you may want to select to configure one by selection Yes and clicking Next.
If not, select No, click Next, and on the next screen select Finish.


Insert the name you would like displayed on your emails.


Enter the email address you would like displayed.


Under Incoming mail server, insert your shell server.
(i.e. shell#.ba.best.com or fpage#.ba.best.com or commerce#)
Outgoing mail server should be smtp.best.com. Click Next.


Insert your email username under Account name and the password associated with that account.
Click Next.


Click Finish.
