Internet Setup Assistant

The following instructions walk you through setting up a new Internet configuration using the "Internet Setup Assistant".

 

When you first run the Assistant you will get the following two windows click on both of them.

 

 

 

The next window just gives a little information about what you are about to do. Click the button to continue.

 

 

You should name the configuration something like Cari.Net so it is easy to recognize later. You will be connection via your modem. Make appropriate changes and click the button to continue.

 

 

Select your Modem from the Modem list, if your modem is not listed then just select one of the Hays modems. You most likly have your modem attached to your Modem port, and you will want to use Tone dial. Make appropriate changes and click the button to continue.

 

 

In this window enter the phone number for your area, your user name (Login name) and Password and click the button to continue.

 

 

Cari.Net does not require a connection script when connection, so make sure that "No" is checked and click the button to continue.

 

 

IP addresses are assigned dynamically so answer no to the question about you own IP and click the button to continue.

 

 

The next window will appear. In the top field type in:

209.79.190.10
209.79.190.15

In the bottom field type in:

myisp.com

Once you have typed those in click the button to continue.

 

 

Your e-mail address is <<login>>@myisp.com where <<login>> is your user name or login name. Your e-mail password is the same as your dialup password. Once you have entered that data click the button to continue.

 

 

Your "e-mail account" is <<login>>@mail.ispadmin.com and the "SMTP host" is smtpmyisp.com. enter that data and click the button to continue.

 

 

The news host is news.ispadmin.com. Click the button to continue.

 

 

We do not have a proxy server. Click the button to continue.

 

 

That is all there is to connecting your computer to the Internet. You may need to configure your e-mail program, you will need to select the appropriate program fro the MacConfig menu. Click the to finish.
