Note: Mistral has supplied you with dedicated Mail and News client applications. However, if you wish to use Netscape Communicator for those tasks, please proceed.

 

1. Start Netscape Communicator.
2. Select Preferences.. from the Edit menu.
3. Expand Mail & Groups.
4. Click on Identity.
5. Enter the following information under Identity:
   
   

   Your Name	your username
   Email address	your_mail_name@your_domain.com
   Reply-to address	your_mail_name@your_domain.com
   Organization	<your organization (not required)>

   
   

7. Click on Mail Server.
   
8. Click Add.

   
   
   Enter the following information under Mail Server Properties

   Mail server user name	<your user name>
   Outgoing mail (SMTP) server	mail.your_domain.com
   Incoming mail server	mail.your_domain.com

Select POP3 for the Mail Server Type.

Click OK.

    10.  Click on News Group Servers.

    11.  Click Add

    11.  Enter the following information under Discussion groups (news) server:

News (NNTP) Server

news.your_domain.com

    12.  The port stays at 119 and do NOT check Secure.

          

11. Click OK.

Netscape Communicator is now configured to be used with your account.
