Double-click the America Online v4.0 icon. Click the Setup button.

Select Create a location for use with a new access number or an ISP. Click the Next arrow.

In the Name text box, type ISP/LAN Connection. In the Try to connect text box, type 5. Select Add a custom connection (for example, TCP/IP). Click the Next arrow.

Click the OK button.

Set Select Location to ISP/LAN configuration When you want to sign on to America Online, first dial into us. Once you have established the connection to us, open AOL and sign on.
